FRED PERRY HISTORY:

Fred Perry was the son of a Stockport cotton spinner, who went on to become world table tennis champion at 19, before switching to lawn tennus and winning Wimbledon three times with a killer forehand. Regarded as the best dressed player of his time, Perry went on create his own clothing line. The original polo shirt was worn by Fred Perry himself, both on and off the court. The shirt went on to become a piece of British subcultural uniform, adopted by each generation as their own. The twin tipped polo took Fred Perry from sportswear to streetwear. What inspired Fred also inspired a generation of tennis players. And then a generation of rebels, musicians, film-makers and full-circle to sports stars. That Laurel Wreath has been worn over the hearts of many generations, recognised from across a room, dance floor and football stadium.
