BARBOUR INTERNATIONAL HISTORY:

Barbour was founded in 1894 in South Shields in the North East of England, the iconic British brand remains a family owned business in the same town to this day. Remaining true to the company’s core values, fashion forward pieces still possess the ethos of beautiful functional clothing. In 1908 Barbour introduced it's first oilskin suit for motorcycling and the love affair with biking began. It's A1 suit was adapted for the military and became standard issue for the British submarines. The International jacket was adopted by civvies for biking and quickly became the signature jacket for participants in the International Six Day Trial - which included Steve McQueen. Dyed black after it's partnership with the Vincent Owners Club as it's 'uniform', it's black and gold logo is now instantly recognisable. Set a part from it's mother company, it still sticks to the same quality and timeless appeal Barbour is known for.
