Comme des Garçons was launched in 1969 by the famously elusive and private Rei Kawakubo. She opened her first boutique in '73 in Toyko's Minami-Aoyama district. Rarely photographed or interviewed, Kawakubo remains one of the most influential and sought after designers in the world. 
A series of sub-lines have been established over the years and have gone inform an instantly recognisably “Comme” aesthetic. Comme des Garçons Wallet is one of those.
